Time is precious and we greatly value your time with us.
We want you to take away from this workshop feeling more curious, inspired, and with some practical ways to bring greater awareness of self-use into your everyday life. This practice may reduce fatigue, pain or negative thoughts. It may also improve how you treat yourself by improving how you pay attention to yourself and how you move.
Our experiences in life are greatly affected by what we focus on. Setting an intention can be like a guiding lighthouse, helping to direct our attention. To help you get the most from our time together, we will share a short list of reflective questions with you ahead of the weekend workshop. This is a moment to sit with what brought you to the workshop, what you wish for yourself from the experience, what you already know about self-use and self-care, and how you may already incorporate these ideas into your everyday life.
During the workshop, we will dance between conceptual ideas and sensing through movement, exploring how these ideas show up for each of us. This gives you an opportunity to have a felt experience of the topics we are bringing forward.
Equally important is taking the time to reflect on our experience afterwards. In a non-judgmental way, we can ask ourselves: What worked? What didn't? What did I discover? How might I bring this into my daily life? Taking the time to reflect helps us make sense of our experiences and gives us an opportunity to integrate what we have learned. We will make space for this on the second day.
What you need
A comfortable space to lie on the floor. The lessons will be done lying down. A comfortable, yet firm surface, such as a moving blanket, rug or yoga mat works well.
A few folded towels for any support you may need under your head or knees.
A reliable internet connection and a camera so we can see you and guide you through the movement explorations.
Comfortable clothing, with access to extra layers if you tend to get cold.
An open mind and an open heart.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email us. Either of us is happy to provide any additional information you may need.
